In a certain manner, to create a garden, is to return to our origins. Today we live in an industrialized world which is gaining more and more on our countryside so that
footpaths, forests, marshes, moors and meadows must retreat before agricultural productivity. Not only to the detriment of
much of our indigenous plants, but also for a myriad of creatures
which depend on them and which rarefy unceasingly.
Those of us who realise and regret these changes are also conscious that we must not allow these plants to disappear.
The beauty of the Limousin countryside has always been a great source of inspiration to me and the garden an essential place for expression and creativity. Over the years, an abandoned field has become a vast landscaped garden : a small kingdom of beauty dedicated to acid soil and continental climate plants. A few collections now appear : viburnums, cornus, heathers, roses...
Thus originated an encounter between individuals, a place, nature and art:
this can only generate improvement. |
